Safe Sleep
What is Safe Sleep?
You can use this space to give a background on Safe Sleep and what it is
Staying safe
This animation has been created by health, safeguarding and public health professionals across Newcastle and Gateshead to help parents and carers keep their babies safe during sleep.
It explains why co‑sleeping or co‑napping is never safe if you have had alcohol, taken drugs, including prescription or over‑the‑counter medicines that can make you drowsy, or if you smoke.
The animation supports families to make safer choices and understand how substances can increase the risk of suffocation and infant death. It aims to give simple, practical advice so every baby can sleep more safely.
